The private sector has a key role to play in achieving the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals, with organisations in the EU and UK agreeing to deliver on ambitious targets to this end.

The question is: are companies missing out on opportunities to reach these targets? Technology has the potential to facilitate an organisation-wide shift to sustainability - with new and technology-driven approaches being key to driving advancements – and their IT leaders should at the forefront of this.

However, our 2022 CIO & IT Leadership Survey suggests that too often, IT’s involvement with sustainability is limited to moving to cloud or recycling initiatives - and opportunities to use technology to build a sustainable operating model are being missed.
